The first-ever Peace Day Anthem “ONE” penned by Zwai Bala—Grammy award-nominated South African musician (of Kwaito group TKZee) and music director of Coke Studio Africa season 3, will premiere in Kigali Sept 21st 2015 at The Peace One Day Youth Celebration at Amahoro Petit Stade in Kigali, Rwanda.

The Coke Studio Africa “ONE” peace anthem song features five of Coke Studio Africa artists: Maurice Kirya (Uganda), Alikiba (Tanzania), Dama Do Bling (Mozambique), Wangechi (Kenya) and Ice Prince (Nigeria). The artists will perform the song for the first time in front of approximately 3,000 young people. On the same day, the song will be available worldwide via iTunes and other platforms. The event will be broadcasted live into Rwanda and the world on the Rwanda Broadcasting Agency (RBA) network, among other networks.

Coca-Cola will also offer a special toast to peace with the release of a commemorative Coca-Cola Bottle with the Peace One Day logo and the message “who will you make peace with?” The specially-designed bottle will be available at the Concert location and in retail outlets throughout Kigali for a limited period of time. From Rwanda to the world, thousands of audiences at The Peace One Day celebration will take selfies and photos showing the peace sign – as a declaration of peace. Uploads via all their social media platforms with the hashtag #PeaceDay will make this world’s biggest selfies conglomeration in a bid to spread the peace movement in viral style. Inspired by the non-profit organization Peace One Day’s mission to reach three billion people with the message of Peace Day by 2016 – the #PeaceDay selfie this year aims to make the peace message travel faster.

Coke Studio Africa is proud to deliver this exceptional peace song, delivered by a masterful writer and 5 of Africa’s brightest music stars. Coke Studio Africa purposes to celebrate and showcase the diversity of African musical talent by giving upcoming artists the opportunity to work with some of the best local and international music and production talent.

The event, which is part of Peace One Day’s wider campaign in the region made possible by the Howard G Buffett Foundation.
