Iraju Hamisi Mjege, better known as Lizer Classic or Lizer Magic is the man behind some of the biggest hits in the Bongo Music scene. The 30-year-old Wasafi Records (WCB) music producer is credited with producing almost all of Wasafi’s greatest songs including “Jibebe” and “Kwa Ngwaru”. As the resident producer at WCB, he also worked on one of the biggest albums of 2018 - “A Boy from Tandale” by Bongo superstar Diamond Platinumz. Making his debut on Coke Studio Africa 2019, Lizer will be producing several music collaborations among them, a mash-up between Kenyan hit maker Naiboi and his fellow Wasafi label mate Rayvanny.
Lizer is well admired across the region for an illustrious list of bongo mega hits notably; ‘’Kwetu’’ by Rayvanny, ‘’Sikomi’’ by Diamond, ‘’Hallelujah” by Diamond featuring Morgan Heritage, ‘’Waka’’ by Diamond and Rick Ross, ‘’Kijuso’’ by Queen Darleen featuring Rayvanny, “Show Me’’ by Harmonize, Lava Lava’s “Tuachane” and the viral collaborative track ‘’Zilipendwa’’. With this plethora of hits under his name, he has earned the nickname “Magic Fingers”.
The Kigoma born record producer began his expansive music career just 11 years ago. He started out in Tanzania before moving to Burundi where he met Diamond Platnumz. He has since made a mark in the Burundian music industry and won accolades like Producer of The Year Award. Before being propelled into the spotlight for his production on Rayvanny’s “Kwetu”, Lizer produced a number of hit singles including ‘’Bajou”, “Ubutumire”, “Sana” “Nakulove”, “Nkarira”, “Nyandika’’ with celebrated stars Sat B, Big Fizzo, Lolilo, Emery Sun and Rally Joe.
