Chidinma, also known as Ms. Kedike owing to her hit single Kedike is a Nigerian Afro-pop singer, songwriter, recording artiste and performer. Currently riding high with her hit track Fallen for You, Chidinma’s name regularly pops up at international and African awards ceremonies. She returns to Coke Studio Africa for the fourth time, this year paired alongside Kenyan award-winning music group Sauti Sol.


Chidinma came into the limelight after winning the third season of MTN Project Fame West Africa in 2010. Going straight into a professional music career, she released her first hits Jankoliko and Kedike, which were part of her debut album “Chidinma” released in 2011. The international success of Kedike earned her fan recognition and a 5-year recording contract with Nigeria’s top director Clarence Peters at Capital Hill Records. By 2016, Chidinma established her own label, Fortyfied Music Company. She continues to receive recognition for her music and nominations for Best Collaboration at the Headies Awards (2015) and Most Gifted African West Artiste at the Channel O Awards (2013). In 2014, she earned a nomination at the MTV Africa Music Awards for the Best Female Category.


Her musical style is particularly influenced by the likes of Michael Jackson, Bob Marley, Alicia Keys, Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey, Fela Kuti, Omawumi, Onyeka Onwemu, Lagbaja and Darey Art Alade. Chidinma has shared the stage with some of Nigeria’s finest including Olamide, Tiwa Savage, D’banj, Phyno and Wizkid and performed in Benin, Sierra Leone, Kenya, Niger and Ghana.


Chidinma Hilary Ekile was born in Imo State, Nigeria. She began signing in the church choir at the age of 6. After years of nurturing her musical talent, she auditioned for the 3rd edition of the MTN Project Fame, which she won. Chidinma met IllBliss who became her manager and producer. Her steady rise in the industry saw her become the first female musician to peak at number 1 on the MTV Base official Naija top chart with her hot track Emi Ni Baller. She has not looked back since and continues to rise as one of Africa’s most talented vocalists.
