WHO IS BIL NAS?
Tanzanian rapper Bill Nass is well known for his hit single Mazoea featuring compatriot and famed rapper Mwana Fa. Nass’ quick rise in the industry has seen him listed among the MTV Base “50 artists to watch in 2017,” and earned him the title "The Hitman". He makes his debut on Coke Studio Africa 2017 as a Big Break Artist performing alongside Uganda’s Sheebah and Asgegnew Ashko from Ethiopia.
He smashed into the music scene in 2014 with a hit collaboration with Kenya’s Nazizi and TID of Tanzania. The song propelled him to new career heights where he was nominated at the prestigious Kilimanjaro Tanzania Music Awards (KTMA) for Best New Artist. Although he didn't win, the recognition gave him a platform to spread his wings and fly. His second hit Ligi Ndogo featuring TID also shot up the charts and received massive airplay. The release of Chafu Pozi a year later secured his place as a household name and got him a touring opportunity on Fiesta shows across Tanzania, where he shared the stage with Nigerian superstars Wizkid, Yemi Alade, and Tekno, and Ali Kiba, Diamond Platnumz and Vanessa Mdee from Tanzania. His latest project Mazoea was selected as Song of the Month by local radio giant Clouds FM and has more than 1 Million Views on YouTube.
Bill Nass has had a very successful career having featured on several songs including Komela by Dayna Nyange, Hakuna Matata by Countryboy and Aje Mwenyewe by Stamina and Young Killah. He has also performed alongside L Tido and KID X at Baseline in Johannesburg, South Africa. In 2016, his single Ligi Ndogo was featured on the soundtrack of the second season of the TV Series Master of None. In the same year, he was also made the brand ambassador for the Quality Group App.
THE BACK STORY
Bill Nass was born William Nicholaus Lyimo to parents who hail from Tanzania’s Kilimanjaro region –where residents are well known for their entreprenuerial qualities. His rise to fame is attributed to his hard work, dedication and discipline both artistically and businesswise. He has since founded his own management label company (LFLG) and at the same time earned a Degree in Procurement & Supplies Management.
