Super star producer and rapper Madtraxx from Kenya is one of Kenya’s most respected artistes. His hit songs include Skamaress, Boda Boda and Geuka. He makes his debut as a producer on Coke Studio Africa 4 working with the artiste pairs: Toofan (Togo) and Radio & Weasel (Uganda); Stonebwoy (Ghana) and Haile Roots (Ethiopia), and Efya (Ghana) and Eddy Kenzo (Uganda).

Together with Mejja and Kid Kora, he’s also a member of The Kansoul. The group is a Kenyan afro pop and genge group known for mega hits including Moto Wa Kuotea Mbali, Mabega and Tunakubali featuring Timmy Tdat. They first hit single Dabo Tap released in 2014 was an instant hit that resonated with many fans, cementing The Kansoul’s presence in the industry as one of most promising Kenyan groups of this era. Dabo Tap was well received throughout the East African community as well as the diaspora.

It must be a great year for The Kansoul. As they make their debut On Coke Studio Africa season 4, the trio is also set to release their first debut album, Utamu wa Life (The Good Life) towards the end of the year. The Kansoul made a mark in the music industry even before their second year anniversary. This is credited to the well-collaborated effort of the three musical geniuses. This has additionally worn them a number awards and nominations in the industry. Among their achievements are successful tours in Africa, topping Kenyan/Ugandan charts and gaining international attention and playing shows in the UK and the US.

Madtraxx derives his music influences from an array of Kenyan musicians such as Nameless, E-Sir and Juacali. Together with his group members, they started The Kansoul in 2014.
