Johnson Kayode is a Nigerian pianist on the Coke Studio Africa 4 house band. Based in Nairobi, Kayode was inspired by his passion for music from the time he was young. While playing the piano, he has since skillfully mastered the art of arranging and directing music. The renowned music director has produced and arranged music for celebrated solo acts as well as groups in the vibrant Kenyan music industry. They include Noel Nderitu, Voices of Purpose, Nairobi Chapel Worship Team, Fena, King Kaka and Annistar Arning.

His musical success has earned him recognition making him get awarded for the Outstanding Leadership Award courtesy of the Nairobi Chapel Oscar Awards. In addition, he has achieved great milestones by working together with one of Coke Studio Africa 3 producers Jaaz Odongo. Kayode has also worked with Wyclef Jean for the remix of Divine Sorrow on Coke Studio Africa 2.

Johnson draws his inspiration from Kevin Bond, Aaron Lindsey, Wole Oni and Robert Glasper. Starting his musical journey at the age of twelve, Johnson begun playing drums and would later pick up the piano. He has risen to make a name for himself as a musical director and skillful keyboard player in his homeland Nigeria as well as in Kenya where he currently resides. During his free time, Johnson likes to relax at home and cook.
